Today we had a couple of very special visitors to dog beach. Julie and her husband Rick were visiting from Minnesota. They have Pixel’s real mother, Georgi. Georgi gave me one of the best gifts of my life and I am so very grateful that she is getting the life she deserves with Julie and Rick. Pixel and Georgi are so much alike. Unfortunately, Georgi (or her brother Gunnar) wasn’t able to make it to Florida this time. I can’t wait for the chance for them to meet each other again.
Pixel was a bit of her shy self, but she warmed up to them very quickly. They knew how to make her feel comfortable.

Just for fun, here are some old photos. Notice Pixel front and center at the milk bar? Georgi was a great mom, always making sure everyone got fed and counting the puppies. She knew where each one was at all times, but let us all hold them.

Did you say food? Of course! So many delicious things everywhere. At Scoma’s Restaurant in Sausalito, I had the lobster risotto and my friends had the Dungeness crab. Everything was delicious and the view was awesome.

Had a wonderful shrimp and grits at Brenda’s French Soul Food in San Francisco, but the Beignets were out of this world. Plain, chocolate and apple. I’d take any of them again.
